AI Snake: Where ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude Battle as Snakes

Everyone is talking about AI: which one is best, ChatGPT or Gemini, Claude or DeepSeek. That gave me a fun question: what if they actually had to fight each other? AI Snake grew out of that idea.

What is AI Snake?
AI Snake is a free online snake game in the style of Slither.io and Worms Zone. There is nothing to download and no account to create. You just open the site in a mobile or desktop browser and play.
You pick one of 12 AIs: ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, DeepSeek, Grok, Copilot, Perplexity, Midjourney, Meta AI, Mistral, Poe or Amazon Q. Each snake wears its AI's logo as the head and spells the AI's name along its body, like C L A U D E. The goal is to eat data, grow, make rivals crash into your body, and become the biggest AI in the arena.
Key features
- 12 AI characters, each with its own colours and design.
- 34 tech items to eat across six rarities, from Common to Mythic: GPU, CPU, RAM, Quantum Core, God Brain, Infinite Data and more. Some give special effects such as Shield, Speed or Massive Growth.
- 6 evolution levels: the snake's look changes as it grows, from Basic Glow through Neon, Digital Circuit, GPU Armor and Quantum Energy to Legendary AI.
- 3 game modes: Classic, Battle Royale (last snake standing) and a 3-minute Racing mode.
- Global leaderboard with daily, weekly, monthly and all-time rankings.
- Photo card: after each game you can create an image of your result to download or share on social media.

Built with mobile in mind
Most people in Bangladesh play games on their phones, so the mobile experience was my top priority. There is a Worms Zone–style floating joystick that appears wherever you put your thumb, and a separate boost button on the other side, so it's comfortable to play with two hands. There's also a setting to reduce effects on slower phones.

Decisions that mattered
The arena is never empty. To keep the arena lively even when few people are playing, it is filled with computer-controlled snakes (bots). Some are small and some are huge, and when one dies a new one joins within seconds. Bots look for food, avoid danger and try to cut off the player when they get the chance.
Keeping scores honest. The game runs on the player's device, so I made the database responsible for checking scores. If a score is impossible for the time played, or someone submits too often, the database rejects it on its own. There is also an admin panel to keep the leaderboard clean.
Fun comes first. At first, a snake died if it touched its own body. After playtesting I found that made the game less fun, so I removed that rule. Now you only lose by crashing into another snake.

Performance
Even with neon animations, a moving background and custom fonts, the site scores 95 on mobile and 99 on desktop for performance in Google PageSpeed Insights, and 100 for SEO on both.
What's next
I plan to work on real-time multiplayer against real people, a Team Battle mode and more characters. Give it a try at aisnake.org, and if you have suggestions, get in touch.
